247 - Considered the greatest player in the history of American football, Tom Brady confirmed his retirement from the field on Tuesday (1). He broke the record by owning seven NFL (National Football League) championship rings.
The athlete joined the New England Patriots in 2000. He and coach Bill Belichick won six Super Bowls.
In 2020, Brady left New England, in the Northeastern United States, and went to Tampa Bay, a professional soccer franchise based in Florida (USA), where he led the Buccaneers to the NFL title playing in their own stadium, something that had never happened before in the league.
Tom Brady has more NFL titles than any of the league's 32 teams combined.

"I've always believed that football is an 'all-in' proposition – if there isn't 100% commitment you won't succeed, and success is what I love so much about our game. There's a physical, mental and emotional challenge EVERY day that has allowed me to maximize my full potential. I've truly tried my best these last 22 years. There are no shortcuts to success on the field or in life."
This is difficult for me to write, but here goes: I will no longer have this competitive commitment. I loved my NFL career, and now it's time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.
I've had a lot of reflection this past week and asked myself some tough questions. And I'm so proud of what we've accomplished. My teammates, coaches, fellow competitors, and fans deserve 100% of me, but now, it's best to leave the playing field to the next generation of dedicated and committed athletes.
To my Bucs teammates of the last two years, I love you guys and I loved going into battle with you. You dug so deep to challenge yourselves and you inspired me to wake up every day and give my best. I will always be here for you and I want to see you continue to strive to be your best. I couldn't be happier with what we accomplished together.
To all the Bucs fans, thank you. I didn't know what to expect when I arrived here, but your support and affection have enriched my life and my family's. I was honored to play for such passionate and fun-loving fans.
To the city of Tampa and the entire Tampa-St. Petersburg region, thank you. It was wonderful to be a resident of such a fun place to live. I hope to be invited to the next boat procession.
To the Glazer family, thank you for believing in me and supporting me. I know I was demanding at times, but you provided everything we needed to win, and having you as franchise owners is all a player could ask for.
To Jason Licht, thank you for your daily support and friendship – I will never forget it. I had never been a free agent and there was some trepidation about how we could succeed. Your leadership gave me confidence and I will always be grateful.
To my coach and boss Bruce Arians, thank you for putting up with me. Your firm leadership and guidance were ideal. We wouldn't have succeeded without your experience, intuition, and wisdom, and I am very grateful.
To all the Bucs coaches, my sincere thanks for the hard work, dedication, and discipline involved in creating a winning team. I learned a lot from all of you and will cherish the relationships we had.
To every Bucs employee, thank you. Each one of you is very important, and I was greeted with a smile every day. That means a lot to me. Your work consists of long hours and hard tasks, but please know that I see each and every one of you. Thank you very much.
To Alex Guerrero, thank you. I could never have made it through all the Sundays without you guys. It's that simple. Your dedication to your work and our friendship and brotherhood are immeasurable. We have an unbreakable bond, and I love you.
To Don Yee and Steve Dubin, thank you. You've been with me every step of the way since I left the University of Michigan and before I joined the League. What a journey it's been, and I couldn't have done it without you.
To my parents and my entire family (extended to the family of countless friends), I love you and thank you for your endless support and love. I could never have imagined the time and energy you have given me over the last 30 years in football. I can never repay you. Just know that I love you all so much.
And lastly, my wife, Gisele, and my children Jack, Benny, and Vivi. You are my inspiration. Our family is my greatest achievement. I always left the field and went home to the most loving and supportive woman, who did EVERYTHING for our family to allow me to focus on my career. Her selflessness allowed me to achieve new professional milestones, and there are no words to describe what you mean to me and our family. I love you, love of my life <3.
My playing career was thrilling and far beyond my wildest imagination, full of highs and lows. When you're in it day and night you don't really think about any kind of ending. As I sit here, however, I think about the greatest players and coaches I've had the privilege of playing with and against – the competition was tough and deep, JUST THE WAY WE LIKE IT. But the friendships and relationships are equally strong and deep. I will remember and celebrate these memories and revisit them often. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.
The future is exciting. I'm fortunate to have co-founded incredible companies like @autograph.io @bradybrand @tb12sports, which I'm excited to continue building and growing, but exactly what my days will look like is a work in progress. As I said before, I'm going to live day by day. I know for sure I'll want to spend a lot of time giving to others and trying to enrich other people's lives, just as so many have done for me.
With much love, esteem, and gratitude,
Tone"
