Brazil Agency – Santos defeated América-MG 3-0 on Friday night (21) at the Anacleto Campanella stadium in São Caetano do Sul and reached the final of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. Now, Peixe will follow the match between Palmeiras and São Paulo, scheduled for next Saturday (22), to find out who will be their opponent in the competition's final.

The game

The first half was very balanced, with the teams' defenses outweighing the attacks. América-MG had the first clear chance in the 12th minute, when Adyson shot, which Diógenes saved. However, Santos was more efficient and managed to open the scoring three minutes later. After a shot by Ed Carlos, the goalkeeper partially deflected the ball, hitting the crossbar and falling to Lucas Barbosa, who made no mistake.

Peixe continued to dominate the match and, just 9 minutes into the second half, extended their lead. After a cross from Rwan Seco, the goalkeeper failed again and the ball fell to Lucas Barbosa, who scored.

In the 26th minute, Santos put the finishing touches to the game, when Weslley Patati controlled the ball, advanced freely and kicked hard to beat goalkeeper Cássio.

End of the Copinha

The final of the São Paulo Junior Football Cup is scheduled for next Tuesday (25), the anniversary of the city of São Paulo. On this occasion, Santos will seek its fourth title in the competition, after the victories of 1984, 2013 and 2014.
