247 - Federal deputy Rogério Correia (PT-MG) repudiated the statement made by volleyball player Wallace de Souza, from Sada Cruzeiro and former national team player, who made a threat to the President of the Republic, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT). On his Instagram account, Wallace promoted a poll threatening President Lula with death.
In a statement, the congressman informed that, together with state representative Beatriz Cerqueira, he has already filed a complaint with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Minas Gerais and the Supreme Federal Court to open an investigation and punish this irresponsible act.
The parliamentarian also said that he hopes the Sada Cruzeiro board will fire the player. “Or will they continue this example of delinquency and disrespect? No one can threaten another's life, democracy, and get away with it. When you threaten the President of the Republic, you threaten democracy and the popular will. This is not the behavior of a sportsman, but of a terrorist,” he concluded.
