Flamengo president Landim defends his wife, a club director, after attack on people from the Northeast of Brazil.
"It was almost a cathartic outburst. She has the right to express her opinion," he stated regarding the xenophobic post.
247 - The president of Flamengo, Rodolfo Landim, a supporter of Bolsonaro, stated that the message from his wife, Angela Machado, the club's director of social responsibility, against people from the Northeast – regarding Lula's (PT) victory in the presidential election – was "distorted," and she only shared something she received.
"Deep down, it was almost a cathartic outburst, seeing the land she loves so much, and feeling that perhaps in the coming years it won't have the destiny she would like it to have. She has the right to express her opinion," the official stated.
“She reposted a message she received. Angela is an extremely religious person, a devout practicing Catholic, she is someone who loves people. Within Flamengo, she is truly universally loved. All the club employees adore Angela, they love her, for the care she has for each one of them,” he stated.
