247 - French national team and PSG player Ousmane Dembélé won the 2025 Ballon d'Or award on Monday (22). It is the category for best player in the world, announced at an event by France Football in Paris. In the women's category, the victory went to Aitana Bonmatí, who secured her third consecutive trophy in the category.
The 28-year-old forward beat out competition from Lamine Yamal (Barcelona and the Spanish national team). Vitinha (PSG and Portugal) came in third. The award was the result of a victorious season for Dembélé, who won four titles with the club, including the unprecedented Champions League.
The voting takes into account the athletes' performances between August 1, 2024, and August 2, 2025. Frenchman Dembélé played in 60 matches last season, scoring 27 goals and providing 14 assists. In addition to the Champions League, he won the French Championship, the French Super Cup, and the French Cup.
Brazilian Raphinha (Barcelona) finished outside the top 3, coming in 5th. Vini Jr (Real Madrid) ended up in 16th position.
