247 - Portuguese striker Diogo Jota, 28, and his brother André Silva, 25, died in the early hours of Thursday (3) in a tragic accident at kilometer 65 of the A-52, the road that connects northern Portugal to Galicia, Spain. According to information from the Spanish newspaper Brand, republished by the newspaper The GlobeThe highway, known as the Rías Baixas Highway, had been criticized by drivers who reported cracks and stains on the road surface, especially in the right lane.

The car the brothers were in, a Lamborghini, left the road, collided with the guardrail, and caught fire. Both died at the scene. The exact model of the vehicle has not yet been officially released. Spanish authorities have not confirmed the cause of the accident, but are considering two main hypotheses: loss of control during an overtaking maneuver or a tire blowout.

According to the EFE news agency, skid marks were found on the asphalt, which may indicate that the car lost traction before crossing the median and crashing. After the impact, the vehicle was completely consumed by flames within minutes, according to witness accounts. Emergency teams arrived quickly, but there was no way to save the victims.

Highway under criticism - According to the BrandAlthough it doesn't have potholes or serious visibility problems, the A-52 highway has been the subject of frequent complaints on social media. Drivers point out small cracks and stains on the road surface, which, according to reports, leads many motorists to prefer driving in the left lane even when not overtaking, which can represent additional risks.

The possibility that the condition of the asphalt contributed to the accident has not been ruled out by authorities.
