Robinho's final decision in the rape case in Italy will be known this Wednesday.

247 - The Court of Cassation in Rome, the highest court in Italy, is due to rule this Wednesday (19) on the appeal filed by the defenses of players Robinho and Ricardo Falco, sentenced to nine years in prison for the crime of group sexual violence committed against a woman of Albanian origin in a Milan nightclub in January 2013. According to the UOLThe sentence will be final.

According to the report, the hearing for the case began around 6:30 AM (Brasilia time) and lasted approximately 30 minutes. Robinho's appeal is the first of a list of 28 cases that will be analyzed by the Court throughout the day.

Upon arriving at the courthouse, Robinho's lawyer, Alexander Guttieres, said he would not comment on what would be said in the session, but claimed that the "process is full of flaws," without specifying what those flaws were.

The situation involving the rape of the young Albanian woman resonated in Brazil after the Santos club signed Robinho and downplayed the crime. The club even officially announced that he was a victim of "stoning."

The athlete's contract was only revoked after mobilization and even a boycott by advertisers, who did not want to see their brands associated with sexual violence. Robinho admitted to having had sexual relations with the victim, but denied the accusations of sexual violence when questioned in 2014.
