Flamengo started the night of this Wednesday (2) celebrating with its fans, at the Maracanã stadium, the conquest of the Libertadores Cup. But the one who celebrated at the end was Corinthians, who won 2-1 to entangle the fight for the vice-leadership of the Brazilian Championship.

After winning away from home, Corinthians remained in 5th position, now with 61 points, the same score as 4th-placed Fluminense and 3rd-placed Flamengo, and just three points behind second-placed Internacional.

Even with the support of their fans, Flamengo saw Corinthians open the scoring in the 42nd minute of the first half, when Mateus Vital crossed low for Du Queiroz to arrive and hit it first time past goalkeeper Hugo Souza.

Rubro-Negro managed to equalize just 2 minutes into the second half, when Matheus França chipped the ball over the top to score a great goal. However, in the 29th minute, Méndez passed to Yuri Alberto, who, with one touch, got away from Fabrício Bruno before scoring a superb shot to secure the victory and Corinthians' place in the group stage of the Libertadores.
