247 - In an interview with journalist Leonardo Attuch, editor of TV 247, Navy reserve commander Robinson Farinazzo, who runs the "Art of War" channel, analyzed the recent geopolitical pressures from the United States on Brazil and its global repositioning in light of the rise of the BRICS. Farinazzo denounced the blackmail promoted by US President Donald Trump against the Brazilian government, criticized Eduardo Bolsonaro's "surrenderist" actions in the United States, and defended the expansion of national sovereignty in the area of defense, highlighting the Brazilian nuclear submarine project.

“Trump is basically a blackmailer,” declared Farinazzo, referring to the US government's threat to impose 50% tariffs on Brazilian products. “The demands he is making on Brazil are impossible to meet. This is a democracy with separation of powers. The Executive branch is not in a position to interfere in the decisions of the Supreme Federal Court.”

Criticism of Eduardo Bolsonaro and warning of subservience.

According to Farinazzo, federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP), who maintains dialogue with far-right figures in the US, acts in a way that is completely detached from national interests:

"We thought we'd seen it all in terms of selling out national assets, but this was too much. Eduardo Bolsonaro's case has nothing to do with the country; it's simply about saving his family. It's shameful."

Farinazzo also highlighted the negative impact that these political maneuvers could have on the Brazilian economy, especially among voters who elected Eduardo Bolsonaro to Congress.

Lava Jato, lawfare, and an attack on sovereignty.

The commander highlighted the destructive effects of Operation Lava Jato, classifying it as a color revolution against Brazil. In his assessment, there was a "collective trance" resulting from the manipulation of public opinion, leading to the dismantling of strategic sectors of the economy, such as civil construction, heavy industry, and the defense sector.

"Operation Lava Jato was designed to break Brazil. Every government that adopts a developmentalist approach ends up being overthrown under accusations of corruption or communism."

Defense and nuclear submarine

Among the main topics discussed, Farinazzo highlighted the importance of the Brazilian nuclear submarine project, which he considers vital for protecting trade routes and sovereignty over offshore oil.

"The nuclear submarine is the most important military project we have. It guarantees deterrence and the protection of our interests in the Atlantic. Europe and the US will do everything to stop this project."

Farinazzo also advocated for a robust industrial policy for national defense and criticized Brazil's technological dependence on Western countries, proposing cooperation with Russia and China.

BRICS, regime change and democratic resistance

The analyst stated that President Lula is "in the crosshairs" of international sectors that wish to reverse Brazil's current alignment with the BRICS. He warned of the risks of a "regime change" process encouraged by the United States, but highlighted the strength of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) as a bastion of democracy.

"Operation Lava Jato empowered the Supreme Court. Now, dismantling that will be very difficult. The Supreme Court is currently the main pillar of democratic resistance in the country."

Farinazzo stated that he has no doubt about the intention to overthrow President Lula, but believes that his international prestige and alignment with countries of the Global South make this a difficult possibility.

The US, war, and the collapse of soft power.

Regarding Trump's foreign policy, Farinazzo was categorical:

"He's selling snake oil. He wants to appear strong, but he has no strategy. The soft power of the US is being destroyed by its own antipathy."

Regarding the war in Ukraine, he stated that the United States is "depleting its arsenals" and that Russia will ultimately determine the course of the conflict. He also denounced the US role in sabotaging the Nord Stream gas pipeline and highlighted that the collapse of European energy infrastructure has boosted China's competitiveness.

Argentina and the regional role

Regarding Javier Milei's government, Farinazzo said that the Argentine president "is subservient to the US and Israel," but that, at the moment, Argentina does not represent a military threat to Brazil. He warned, however, that the economic and strategic decisions of the neighboring country should be monitored.

Farinazzo concluded by defending dialogue between the left and the military and praised General Tomás Ribeiro Paiva, commander of the Army, for his efforts in depoliticizing the Armed Forces:

"Mixing politics and military service is a recipe for disaster. The role of the military is the defense of the nation, not partisan action. General Tomás has been doing a job worthy of respect."
