247- Federal Deputy Glauber Braga (PSOL) denounced the recent decision by the National Congress to maintain the possibility of party leaders indicating parliamentary amendments as an attempt to continue with the secret budget, contradicting decisions of the Supreme Federal Court (STF). “The decision adopted by the Chamber, in the vote on the last bill in the National Congress, maintained the possibility of party leaders indicating amendments. This is a continuation of a fraud against previous decisions of the Supreme Federal Court,” Braga stated in an interview with [publication name]. Good Morning 247.

The parliamentarian explained that, in addition to maintaining amendments without identifying authorship, there is a new bill in progress that gives party leaders the power to replace committee chairs at any time. He mentioned the case of Congressman José Rocha, who did not accept nominations made by Arthur Lira (PP-AL). "Nothing could be more accurate than the request made by PSOL to Minister Flávio Dino to annul the Congressional decision that kept the budget secret," he said.

Braga recalled that Minister Flávio Dino's decision at the end of last year to suspend the payment of more than R$ 4 billion in parliamentary amendments was motivated by the lack of transparency in the allocation of these resources. "There is no agreement with the Supreme Federal Court to maintain what the Supreme Court itself has already stated is an illegal and unconstitutional practice, which is the failure to identify the individual who made the amendment proposal," he said.

The impact of secret amendments

The congressman highlighted that the practice of secret budgeting allows for serious distortions, such as parliamentarians allocating disproportionate amounts compared to their colleagues, or directing resources to companies and NGOs linked to their family members and advisors. “This is not conjecture. At this very moment, there are three federal deputies from the PL party being tried in the Supreme Court for stealing money from parliamentary amendments,” Braga denounced.

He stressed that transparency in the use of public money is fundamental to combating corruption and ensuring that resources are well spent. "This spree cannot continue," he concluded. Watch:
