247 - International correspondent Pepe Escobar stated, in an interview with journalist Leonardo Attuch, editor of TV 247, that the West lacks leadership and that President-elect Lula will be the leader of the Global South and a large part of the Global North.

Speaking about the war in Ukraine, he highlighted that Europeans are already starting to get angry with the Ukrainians. "Zelensky talked about peace and made a false flag attack in Poland with the missile story," he said. Pepe also emphasized that the Russian retreat at Kherson was part of a negotiation between the powers and stated that Poland's only interest is to recover western Ukraine. "We are in a war between NATO and Russia, and Zelensky is trying to push the United States into World War III," he stated.

The correspondent also added that much of the funding for the war in Ukraine will cease after the midterm elections in the United States. "Republicans see this war as a Biden war," he stated.

Regarding the BRICS bloc, he stated that China wants to deal with Brazil and Argentina as global strategic partners at the highest level. "Argentina, Iran, Algeria, Indonesia, and Thailand are in line to join BRICS. Several other countries also want to join. The expansion of BRICS could mean the end of the dollar's hegemony," he said.
