"Bolsonarism represents the greatest threat to institutional order in all of Brazilian history," says João Cezar de Castro Rocha.
Professor explains that the 'parallel Abin' case could melt away the last layer of protection that the Bolsonaro clan still has in the Legislative and Judicial branches.
247 - Professor João Cezar de Castro Rocha of UERJ (Rio de Janeiro State University) warned that if the use of a "parallel intelligence agency" to favor the interests of the Bolsonaro family or to investigate political adversaries is proven, Bolsonarism will finally be seen as the greatest threat to Brazilian institutional order ever witnessed: "If the use of ABIN in a parallel manner to the official one to favor the Bolsonaro clan is proven [...], if it is proven that Supreme Court ministers, prosecutors, judges, and deputies were investigated indiscriminately, then, for the first time, Bolsonaro and Bolsonarism will reveal themselves to everyone for what they truly represent: [...] the greatest threat to institutional order in all of Brazilian history," the professor stated in an interview with TV 247.
The professor further emphasizes that if it is proven that ABIN (Brazilian Intelligence Agency) was used to spy on authorities, including ministers of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), the protection that Bolsonaro's supporters still enjoy is likely to be lost. "If it becomes evident, as I believe it soon will, to members of the Judiciary that ABIN, used in parallel by Alexandre Ramagem, was used to spy on the prosecutor in the Marielle Franco case, judges who tried to associate STF ministers with non-existent relationships with the First Command of the Capital (PCC), then the protection that Bolsonaro's supporters still enjoy in these spheres is likely to be lost."
"In this case, if Congressman Alexandre Ramagem's mandate is put to a vote in the plenary session, and if the vote is secret, his expulsion is certain. Because he did something that shouldn't be done: he spied on colleagues, he spied on hierarchically superior officers in all branches of government. In other words, there are no limits to Bolsonarism," he concluded.
