247 - Historian Fernando Horta stated, in an interview with journalist Leonardo Attuch, editor of TV 247, that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's stance regarding the tragedy in São Sebastião (SP) was exemplary from a political standpoint. "Lula acted as a teacher by approaching Governor Tarcísio de Freitas. He was a role model. By strengthening Tarcísio, he weakens Jair Bolsonaro," he affirms.

Horta also said that Tarcísio is a chameleon and will gradually abandon Bolsonarism. However, he issued a warning. "The Brazilian press will try to rehabilitate anti-PT sentiment, but Lula is taking advantage of every opportunity to increase his political capital," he stated.

Regarding the international situation, he said that "we are hearing war drums" and that "China cannot dissociate itself from Russia." In his view, Joe Biden's trip to Ukraine destroys Lula's peace plan, and what should be pursued is to follow the Chinese proposal. "An agreement must leave Russia and Ukraine safe," he points out.
