247 - The president of the Workers' Cause Party, Rui Costa Pimenta, stated in an interview with journalist Leonardo Attuch that the likely victory of Donald Trump's Republican Party in the parliamentary elections is undeniable and will bring difficulties to big American capital. "If Joe Biden's government is contained, that will be good for Brazil," he said. Rui also stated that Europe is heading towards a dramatic situation and European leaders are pressing for a solution in Ukraine.

Regarding the environmental issue and COP27, he said that Lula will not make any agreement that compromises national security. "I don't believe in the seriousness of imperialist countries regarding the Amazon," he said. "Lula needs to have a plan for the development of the Amazon. It's a very rich region, with many poor people," he added.

The president of the PCO also said that big capital wants to control Lula's government. "They don't want the politics that won the election, and Lula should choose someone he fully trusts as Minister of Finance. Talking about the reindustrialization of Brazil is no small thing," he said. "There will be a lot of fighting, and it's necessary to mobilize the people. Lula should use popular support to govern," he noted.

Rui also said that the most leftist element in the government is Lula and that Fernando Haddad could be a good Minister of Finance or Foreign Affairs because of his close relationship with the president-elect. "Lula signaled to the right, but he will turn to the left," he stated. "He will lead a government truly committed to the workers."
