Liana Cirne: "The transition team did more work in 2 months than Bolsonaro did in 4 years"
The lawyer also criticized the media's conduct during the transition process: "Calling the Budget Amendment the 'Spending Amendment' is dishonest."
247 - Recife city councilwoman Liana Cirne Lins (PT), who holds a doctorate in Public Law from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), praised the performance of Lula's government's Transition Office in approving the Budget Amendment that increases the spending ceiling by 145 billion reais for Bolsa Família payments, following an earlier agreement to reduce the measure's validity period to one year.
“The transition team’s performance was extraordinary. They worked more in these two months than they did in four years of the Bolsonaro government,” highlighted the jurist, who criticized the press’s conduct. “The press never stops attacking. They are vile and dishonest. Calling the Budget Amendment the ‘Spending Amendment’ is dishonest,” she stated.
Liana also commented on the speculation surrounding Simone Tebet's (MDB) participation in Lula's government.
“We cannot minimize the importance of her support. It was the support of the third way. It was important support, and she really campaigned. She went to the streets, climbed onto trucks, went to rallies, and asked for votes for Lula. I think this recognition is important,” he emphasized.
Regarding the alleged aspirations to occupy the Ministry of Social Development, Liana said that "greater alignment is needed."
“There are certain portfolios that she can't hold, because Simone Tebet is a liberal. I think it's important that she has a space, and I think it's natural that there's pressure from the media regarding this. She just can't be part of the government in portfolios that dictate social public policies. The PT will have those, and is filling them in every way, but some portfolios are in the PT's DNA,” he said.
