247 - Historian Fernando Horta gave an interview to journalist Leonardo Attuch of TV 247, in which he made strong statements about the economic policy of Finance Minister Fernando Haddad. During the conversation, Horta expressed his critical view regarding Haddad's recent demands for alignment on economic policy made by the Workers' Party (PT).

According to Horta, Haddad's demand for a unified stance on economic policy is an excessive expectation for a party as diverse as the PT. "That's asking too much of a party like the PT," the historian stated. He emphasized that it is possible and healthy to debate economic policy, highlighting the diversity of opinions within the party.

The historian described Haddad's interview with Globo as disastrous, indicating that the Finance Minister's statements and stance towards the PT were not well received. Horta's interview gains prominence at a time when the national president of the PT, Gleisi Hoffmann, is also publicly criticizing the minister, highlighting concerns about a contractionary fiscal policy.

In previous statements to the newspaper O Globo, Gleisi Hoffmann defended the PT's right and duty to issue warnings and promote debates on economic policy. She expressed the party's tradition of supporting government initiatives, but stressed that it is necessary to question and debate when there are disagreements.

The Workers' Party leader also expressed her disagreement with the premature discussion about the succession of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, considering it untimely. According to Gleisi, the focus should be on delivering positive results for the Brazilian people to guarantee Lula's success and re-election.

Fernando Horta's interview brings to light the internal disagreements within the PT (Workers' Party) regarding economic policy, highlighting the importance of internal debate and the different perspectives on the path to be followed. The clash of ideas within the party reflects the complexity of the economic issues that permeate the current political situation in Brazil. Watch:
