Dão Real: Revenue Service is demobilized and strike threatens fiscal balance.
The president of Sindifisco Nacional demands a resumption of dialogue with the government to normalize tax collection and avoid a collapse in budget execution.
247 - During an interview with Good Morning 247The president of Sindifisco Nacional, Dão Real, warned of the seriousness of the strike by tax auditors of the Federal Revenue Service, which has been ongoing since 2023. According to him, the continuation of the movement directly impacts the State's ability to collect taxes, combat tax evasion, and maintain fiscal balance. "The resumption of normalcy at the Federal Revenue Service is fundamental to resuming a path of balance in public accounts," he stated.
Dão explained that the mobilization of auditors intensified at the end of 2023 after the frustration of negotiations with the federal government regarding the salary readjustment for the category. According to him, "for more than a year we have been trying to open a dialogue with the government itself in order to enable the normalization of the tax collection system" and, so far, the negotiations have not progressed. He states that the intransigence of the Ministry of Management and Innovation (MGI) in continuing the negotiation process is the main obstacle to resolving the strike.
According to the president of Sindifisco, the strike has a direct effect on the efficiency of the tax authorities. "The tax collection machine is essentially discontinued," he said. "Work processes, audits, and the adjudication of tax credits are compromised." He argues that the situation is already causing shortfalls in revenue collection, which jeopardizes the achievement of the fiscal targets set by the government itself.
Dão also emphasized that the tax auditors' strike is not an act of political confrontation. "The union is leading a fight that is not against the government, but rather in defense of the tax auditors' right to compensation for salary losses, just as hundreds of other professions received throughout last year."
According to him, the auditors were excluded from the negotiation tables conducted by the MGI in 2023, which deepened the category's discontent. "It is essential to resolve this issue to ensure that public policies do not suffer cuts due to insufficient resources," he stated.
At the end of the interview, Dão Real reiterated the appeal for an immediate solution. “We are trying to reopen the dialogue. A solution to the tax auditors' strike is a basic condition for the resumption of normalcy at the Federal Revenue Service, and without it there will be no fiscal stability until the end of the year.” Watch:
