247 - Individual micro-entrepreneurs (MEI) have until this Thursday (20) to pay the Simples Nacional Collection Document (DAS), whose value was readjusted from February based on the new minimum wage. The mandatory monthly contribution varies between R$ 75,90 and R$ 81,90, depending on the activity performed. For MEI Truck Drivers, the DAS-MEI value is between R$ 182,16 and R$ 188,16, according to the type of product transported and the destination of the cargo, according to information released by Sebrae.

The DAS-MEI (Simplified Tax Collection Document for Individual Microentrepreneurs) combines the collection of taxes such as INSS (National Social Security Institute), ICMS (Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services), and ISS (Tax on Services) into a single payment slip, establishing a fixed monthly amount equivalent to 5% of the minimum wage, with increases depending on the activity performed. Even if the microentrepreneur is not working during the period, payment is mandatory. For MEIs in commerce and industry, there is an increase of R$ 1; service providers pay an additional R$ 5. Those who perform both activities must pay both amounts, totaling an additional R$ 6.

How to issue the DAS-MEI

Sebrae offers a free tool for issuing the DAS-MEI (Simplified Tax Collection Document for Individual Microentrepreneurs), both on its website and through its app. On the institution's portal, the process is simple: just log in with your CPF (Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry) and password, access the personalized "My Mural" environment, and issue the payment slip or generate a code for online payment. The payment history can also be consulted in the same place. For those who prefer the convenience of a mobile phone, the Sebrae app, available for download on smartphones, offers the same functionalities.

Formalizing and paying the DAS (Simplified Tax Collection Document) on time – which must be done by the 20th of each month – guarantees the MEI (Individual Microentrepreneur) access to a series of social security benefits. These include disability retirement, sick pay, maternity leave, survivor's pension, old-age retirement, and imprisonment allowance for family members. The calculation of these benefits is based on the contributions made by the insured person, respecting the minimum qualifying period required for each type of benefit.

Regular payment of the DAS-MEI (Simplified Tax Collection Document for Individual Microentrepreneurs) not only ensures social security rights, but also strengthens the formalization of the business, contributing to the sustainability and growth of the enterprise.
