Brazilian entrepreneurs are leading the way in using social media and data analytics to boost their businesses.
The GEM 2024 survey shows that 80% of early-stage entrepreneurs in Brazil intend to invest more in digital technologies in the coming months.
247 - Brazilian entrepreneurs are the ones who most value the use of social media and data analysis tools among 51 countries evaluated by the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) 2024 survey. The survey, released with the support of Sebrae, reveals that 89% of respondents in Brazil consider social media essential for business and 71% see data analysis as strategic for company growth.
According to GEM, the leading international research on entrepreneurship, 80% of early-stage entrepreneurs in Brazil plan to expand their use of digital technologies in the next six months. Furthermore, 60% are concerned about adopting artificial intelligence and 69% intend to invest in cloud computing solutions to strengthen their market strategies.
According to the president of Sebrae, Décio Lima, the trend is irreversible: “Innovation, sustainability, and inclusion are concepts that are here to stay. We realize that when small businesses enter the innovation and digitalization landscape, they expand opportunities, thereby creating more jobs and income.”
Analysis and results
Décio Lima emphasizes that the survival of a business depends on financial balance and strategic vision. "A business cannot survive in the long term if it doesn't have financial balance, especially in terms of cash flow and short, medium, and long-term investments," he points out.
In this context, data analysis becomes increasingly relevant, especially when combined with artificial intelligence. "In general, computerization can contribute to better and more efficient control of business information, particularly financial information," he states.
According to him, financial management directly benefits from the use of data. "It's necessary to have a forecast of the resources needed and how they will be applied. Where will they be invested, how will they be distributed over time? So, all financial management benefits greatly from data analysis," he emphasizes.
Seminar
The study will be detailed during the seminar “Artificial Intelligence and Small Businesses,” a free online event taking place on September 11th at 9:00 AM. The program will bring together experts from Sebrae, Anegepe, Google, and Gartner, who will present trends and opportunities regarding the application of new technologies in the world of entrepreneurship.
