247 - The president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, confirmed to allies that he will participate in the demonstration called by Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for next Sunday (16), in Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro, according to Igor Gadelha, from Metropolis.

Valdemar's decision came after Supreme Federal Court (STF) Justice Alexandre de Moraes revoked the ban that prevented the PL leader from contacting Bolsonaro. With this, the former president and the party leader will be able to share the same platform during the event.

Initially, Valdemar considered attending the demonstration at a different time than Bolsonaro, thus avoiding any violation of court orders. However, with the authorization granted by Moraes, the party leader opted to be alongside the former president on the sound truck.

The main focus of the demonstration is to defend amnesty for those convicted for the coup attempts of January 8, 2023, when protesters stormed the headquarters of the Three Branches of Government in Brasília. This issue has been one of the banners raised by Bolsonaro and his allies, who are pressuring the National Congress to approve the measure.

Since February 2024, Valdemar and Bolsonaro had been prohibited from communicating by a decision of Moraes, within the scope of the inquiry investigating the attempted coup d'état. Both were indicted by the Federal Police, but the Attorney General's Office (PGR) did not file charges against the president of the PL party, which influenced the minister's decision to lift the restriction.
