Trump is considering banning entry to Brazilians in the United States due to the uncontrolled coronavirus pandemic.

"We are observing many countries and their positions. Brazil, for example... Brazil didn't have problems until recently. Now the numbers are rising. And, yes, we are considering a veto," he said, who has been flattered by Jair Bolsonaro.

Sputnik – Due to the coronavirus pandemic, US President Donald Trump stated that he is considering adding Brazil to the list of countries banned from entering the United States.

The statement was made at a press conference at the White House on Tuesday (31). Asked about possible new flight restrictions, the US president said:

"We are observing many countries and their positions. Brazil, for example... Brazil didn't have problems until recently. Now the numbers are rising. And, yes, we are considering a veto."

Currently, the United States bans entry to foreigners who have visited China, Iran, the United Kingdom, Ireland, and other countries in the Schengen Area within the last 14 days.

The Schengen Area consists of Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City.

Washington authorities also announced a 30-day extension of federal health guidelines for social distancing. The goal is to slow the spread of COVID-19. 

According to data from Johns Hopkins University, the United States has the highest number of coronavirus cases worldwide, with over 186 infected and 3.700 deaths.
