Paulo Victor Chagas*, reporter for Agência Brasil - Interim President Michel Temer is meeting with over 100 business leaders from various productive sectors to hear suggestions for resolving the economic crisis. This meeting is the first event on Temer's agenda specifically focused on business leaders since he assumed the presidency.

Alongside Finance Minister Henrique Meirelles, the interim president is meeting with representatives from sectors such as industry, commerce, agriculture, services, and food to discuss projects aimed at reviving economic growth that will be debated in the National Congress. The goal is also to garner support for expediting the review of bills already under consideration by parliamentarians.

Yesterday (7), another member of the Temer government's economic team was defined, with the Senate plenary approving the name of economist Ilan Goldfajn for the presidency of the Central Bank. Earlier, he had been questioned in the Senate's Economic Affairs Committee. During the questioning, the economist signaled the government's commitment to fiscal stability to allow the return of confidence. Ilan Goldfajn reaffirmed that he intends to reach the center of the inflation target, currently at 4,5%, in the not-too-distant future.
