Is the president of Petrobras about to be ousted?

José Sérgio Gabrielli goes to Brasília seeking support; on his way out of a meeting with Minister Guido Mantega, he denies the blow: he speaks of a conspiracy and says he should visit the court more often; director Graça Foster has already been considered for the position.

247_José Sérgio Gabrielli is unprotected. The president of Petrobras went to Brasília to ask for support from the Minister of Finance, Guido Mantega. At the head of the largest Brazilian company, Gabrielli is the latest target of speculation that his position already has an owner. Or rather, a female owner. A week ago, the newspaper O Globo guaranteed that Maria das Graças Foster, director of gas and energy at Petrobras, would assume the post. The news required the Presidential Palace and the company to release official statements denying the information. But, in the Federal Capital, where there's smoke, there's fire. And Gabrielli made sure to check if he's already burned out.

Upon leaving his meeting with Mantega, Gabrielli spoke of "conspiracy" and "sword duels" in Brasília. As he left the Ministry, the president of Petrobras commented that he needed to visit Brasília more often, a place that reminds him of "court" and where there is conspiracy. "I have to come to Brasília more often. Brasília reminds me of the Three Musketeers," he said. When asked why, Gabrielli replied that it was because of sword duels. "It's court. And there's conspiracy," he said, laughing. Currently, it's necessary to determine which accent he used on the word: "côrte" or "córte".

The president of Petrobras, however, avoided commenting on the company's investment plan. Besides the strict diet he's following to lose weight, Gabrielli said he runs every day on his home treadmill, either in the morning or evening. On weekends, he walks on Ipanema beach for exercise. Gabrielli took the opportunity to reveal the success of the diet, which has already helped him lose seven kilos in a short time. He said he no longer eats fruit or carbohydrates and has given up all types of alcoholic beverages. Now he only eats leafy greens, proteins, and drinks water. He decided to start the diet because of his elevated biochemical levels, mainly cholesterol and triglycerides.
