The government's economic team also projects a minimum wage of R$ 729,20 for 2014 and R$ 803,93 for the following year, an accumulated increase of 29% until 2015.

Agency Brazil – The minimum wage in 2013 could reach R$ 667,75, which corresponds to a 7,3% increase compared to the current amount. The value is included in the draft of the Budget Guidelines Law (LDO), released this Friday (13) by the Ministry of Planning. The economic team also projects a minimum of R$ 729,20 for 2014 and R$ 803,93 for the following year – which results in an accumulated increase of 29% until 2015.

The Budget Guidelines Law (LDO) presents the parameters that will serve as the basis for the preparation of the Federal Budget for next year. The draft maintained the official projections for inflation and economic growth.

Real GDP growth remained estimated at 5,5% for 2013. Inflation, as measured by the Broad Consumer Price Index (IPCA), also remained unchanged from the figures released in February by the economic team, at 4,5%, slightly less than the 4,7% estimated for this year.

The Planning Ministry estimates an average exchange rate of R$ 1,84 for 2013, compared to R$ 1,76 in 2012. The basic interest rates for the economy, according to the LDO (Budget Guidelines Law) project, are expected to end 2012 at 9,75% per year and reach 8,5% per year at the end of 2013.
