247 - Senator Ângelo Coronel's (PSD-BA) report for the 2025 Annual Budget Bill (PLOA), presented this Thursday morning (20), confirmed a cut of R$ 7,7 billion in the Bolsa Família program budget. The reduction was already widely expected and had been anticipated by the government.

According to CNN BrazilIn addition to Bolsa Família, the budget also foresees a cut of R$ 4,8 billion in the program supporting the implementation of full-time schools. The justification is that the expenses will be financed with resources from the Union via Fundeb.

One of the main new developments presented by the rapporteur is the forecast of a primary surplus of R$ 15 billion, equivalent to 0,1% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2025. This estimate exceeds the government's initial projection, which foresaw a surplus of R$ 3,7 billion, closer to the zero deficit target. However, the calculation does not include R$ 44,1 billion in court-ordered payments, which were removed from the fiscal target by order of the Supreme Federal Court (STF).

The expectation is that the budget project will be voted on in a joint session of Congress by this Friday (21).
