247 - The president of the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Robson Braga de Andrade, declared this Monday (23) "unrestricted and unconditional" support for Josué Gomes da Silva remaining as president of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (Fiesp).

"He has all the capacity, in addition to the respect and recognition of his peers, to work and raise the potential of São Paulo's industries and Brazil to the level desired for the country's growth and development," he said. "The national industry is in a hurry to reindustrialize Brazil."

Lawyers from the Fiesp Superior Legal Council released a manifesto this Friday (20) in defense of Josué Gomes. A day earlier, Fiesp released a statement denying that Joshua Gomes has been removed from the presidency of the organization.

Dear President,

The National Confederation of Industry (CNI) defends and believes in the democratic process of electing its leaders to head employers' trade union organizations.

As previously stated, the CNI respects the democratic rule of law and the legal processes for electing presidents and leaders to fulfill, through voting, the will of the majority.

The national industry is in a hurry to reindustrialize Brazil. The sector presented the current government with a Recovery Plan. Its representatives will lead – together with the Legislative, Judicial and Executive branches; and with society – actions so that the country grows sustainably. Only in this way, giving importance to the role of industry, will we move towards a more economically and socially just society.

The CNI recognizes that businessman Josué Gomes da Silva, president-elect of the Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP), has a strategic role in leading this positive agenda. He has all the capacity, in addition to the respect and recognition of his peers, to work and raise the potential of São Paulo and Brazilian industries to the level desired for the country's growth and development.

Best Regards,
