Pimentel responds to Argentine letter.

Minister of Industry and Commerce responds in writing to sister's communication.

In response to a letter from Argentina's Minister of Industry, Débora Giorgi, the Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, Fernando Pimentel, today sent a letter reiterating Brazil's willingness to address all issues of interest to both parties. In the letter, the minister states, however, that regarding the points raised by the Brazilian government, it is necessary to initiate a "constructive dialogue" to reach an agreement that resolves the problems faced by Brazilian exporters at Argentine customs.

Pimentel offered to meet with Débora Giorgi in Brasília to discuss the disputes between the two countries. The MDIC (Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade) decided to release Pimentel's letter, since yesterday the Argentine government revealed a letter that had been sent to the Brazilian government, complaining about Brazil's decision to place automobile imports under non-automatic licensing. In the letter, Débora Giorgi accuses Brazil of "undermining the natural dialogue" between the two trading partners.
