Petrobras completes first gas import from Vaca Muerta, Argentina, via pipeline.
100 cubic meters of natural gas were imported, produced by POSA, a Petrobras subsidiary in Argentina, and by Pluspetrol.
Reuters - Petrobras and Pluspetrol carried out the first import of unconventional natural gas from Vaca Muerta, produced in the Neuquén Basin, Argentina, via pipeline, the Brazilian oil company informed in a press release this Monday.
Last Friday, 100 cubic meters of natural gas, produced by POSA, a Petrobras subsidiary in Argentina, and Pluspetrol, were imported in order to test the commercial and operational framework of the operation, Petrobras said.
The gas was transported via pipelines, from Argentina to Bolivia and from there to Brazil.
The operation took place within the scope of an agreement signed between the companies and their subsidiaries. According to the contract, Petrobras can import up to 2 million cubic meters of natural gas, under the interruptible import modality, according to Petrobras.
"New import operations will occur as companies identify commercial opportunities," Petrobras said.
