Petrobras fails to meet target and Parente increases asset sales to US$21 billion.

Petrobras will close the year without achieving the US$15,1 billion divestment target planned for the 2015/16 period and, as a result, will raise its asset sale target for the 2017/18 biennium to US$21 billion. The state-owned company's asset sale program, currently headed by Pedro Parente, reached US$13,6 billion in the 2015/16 biennium, after the company announced on Wednesday (28) the sale of two assets totaling US$587 million.

Reuters Petrobras will end the year without achieving its target of $15,1 billion in divestments planned for the 2015/16 period, and as a result, will raise its asset sale target for the 2017/18 biennium to $21 billion.

The state-owned company's divestment program for the 2015/16 period reached $13,6 billion, after the company announced on Wednesday the sale of two assets totaling $587 million.

In a statement, the state-owned company attributed the failure to meet the target to a preliminary injunction from the Sergipe court that prevented the completion of the sale of the Tartaruga Verde and Baúna fields, which, according to Petrobras, were "in an advanced stage of negotiation."
