Reuters Petrobras will raise the average price of gasoline at refineries by 12% starting Thursday and will maintain the price of diesel, the oil company confirmed on Wednesday after being consulted.

The increase comes after a recent recovery in international oil prices, as some European and Asian countries, as well as several US states, began to ease isolation measures taken in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The passing on of adjustments in gasoline prices charged at refineries to final consumers at gas stations is not immediate and depends on a number of factors, such as distribution and resale margins, taxes, and the mandatory addition of anhydrous ethanol.
