247 - Petrobras declared this Wednesday (5) that it reaffirms its commitment to the current fuel pricing practice, and that it has not received any proposal from the Ministry of Mines and Energy regarding the alteration of the Pricing Policy.

The statement to the market came after an interview with the Minister of Mines and Energy, Alexandre Silveira, who told GloboNews that the federal government will demand that the company fulfill its state function and create a buffer for fuel prices.

>>> Alexandre Silveira says PPI is "absurd" and announces a change in Petrobras' pricing policy.

"Any proposals to change the Pricing Policy received from the controlling shareholder will be communicated to the market in due course and conducted through the company's usual internal governance mechanisms," Petrobras said.

The company reiterated that product price adjustments "are made in the normal course of its business, due to continuous market monitoring, which includes, among other procedures, daily analysis of the behavior of our prices relative to international quotations," in addition to its market share.
