Reuters Petrobras said on Tuesday that it is not conducting any asset sales in the private market and denied that it is discussing with the Mubadala fund an exchange of shares in the Mataripe refinery, in Bahia, for shares in Braskem.

The statement comes in response to news reports involving Braskem after Novonor, also a shareholder in the company, said it had received a non-binding offer for control of the petrochemical company.

"Petrobras clarifies that all actions related to its stake in Braskem require careful analysis from a portfolio management perspective and must be conducted in accordance with governance practices and applicable internal procedures," said Petrobras.
