Budget authorizes the offering of 58.205 positions in public service exams.

Brasilia – The Annual Budget Law, published in the Official Gazette of the Union today (21), provides for the offering of 58.205 vacancies in public competitions throughout this year: 47.112 in the Executive Branch and 11.093 vacancies divided between the Legislative Branch, the Judiciary and the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Union.

Responsible for authorizing positions in the Executive branch, the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management reported that the 47.112 positions made available by the Budget Law refer to existing but unoccupied positions – 42.353 intended to meet the demands of public bodies for new personnel and 4.759 to replace outsourced employees. If all positions are filled, the costs will be R$ 2,053 billion annually for new personnel and R$ 224,9 million for the replacement of outsourced workers, the Ministry of Planning informed.

The government's tendency is to authorize recruitment processes to address priority areas for the country and essential for the functioning of public administration, with a view to replenishing the workforce in strategic areas of state action, such as public security, infrastructure, health, education, public policy formulation, and government management.
