Oil production in the pre-salt layer reached 715 barrels per day in April, the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) announced today (1st). In the pre-salt, production originated from 49 wells, which also supplied 27,1 million cubic meters of natural gas per day.

Total oil production across all fields in the country during the same period was 2,394 million barrels per day. Natural gas production reached 94,3 million cubic meters per day. According to the ANP (National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels), there was an 11,6% increase in national oil production compared to April 2104, and a 13,9% increase in natural gas production on the same comparative basis.

The fields operated by Petrobras were responsible for 94,3% of oil and natural gas production, of which 93,3% of the oil and 76,5% of the gas were extracted from offshore fields. The Roncador field, in the Campos Basin, was the largest oil producer, with 344,8 barrels per day. The Lula field, in the Santos Basin, was the leading natural gas producer, with an average daily production of 14 million cubic meters.

National production was extracted from 313 concessions, operated by 24 companies. In total, there are 9.064 wells, 820 of which are offshore and 8.244 onshore. Complete information can be obtained on the ANP website (www.anp.gov.br).
