247 - According to the Jair Bolsonaro government, more than one million workers have had their salaries and working hours reduced or their contracts suspended after the issuance of a Provisional Measure authorizing salary and working hour cuts for workers during the crisis caused by the new coronavirus.

According to the Special Secretary for Social Security and Labor of the Ministry of Economy, Bruno Bianco, the number includes individual and collective agreements.

"We can say that this provisional measure is already bearing fruit, and the fruit is more than one million jobs preserved," said the secretary. The government expects the provisional measure to reach 24,5 million workers with formal employment contracts.
