Opinion on the job market improves in August.
Consumer opinion regarding the job market improved by 2,5% between July and August of this year, according to the Coincident Unemployment Indicator (ICD) released by FGV; of the four income brackets surveyed by FGV, the one that contributed most to the improvement was the lowest (up to R$ 2.100).

Rio de Janeiro – Consumer opinion regarding the labor market improved by 2,5% between July and August of this year, according to the Coincident Unemployment Indicator (ICD), released today (9) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). The result shows an accommodation of the indicator, which had registered a worsening of 7,2% in the previous month.
Of the four income brackets surveyed by FGV, the one that contributed most to the improvement was the lowest (up to R$ 2.100). These consumers improved their perception of the job market by 8,1%.
The Leading Employment Indicator (Iaemp), an index from FGV that assesses the future of the labor market based on surveys of industry, the service sector, and consumers, also showed a positive result, with a 2,6% increase in August, after a 5,7% drop in July.
According to FGV, the components that contributed most to the rise in the Iaemp were the expectations of service entrepreneurs regarding business trends (up 12,8%) and the degree of satisfaction with the current situation of service businesses (4,4%).
