247 - Former President Lula (PT) used Twitter this Thursday (17) to criticize what he called the 'destruction' of Petrobras, recalling the company's role of 'investing in the country's development'.

The Workers' Party member highlighted that during his administration, Petrobras became the second largest oil company in the world, but it was 'more than that'. "Petrobras is an oil and gas company, but it's also a company that invests in the country's development. During my administration, it was transformed into the second largest oil company in the world. We carried out the largest capitalization in the history of capitalism. When we discovered the pre-salt reserves, we implemented regulations so that Petrobras would have the funds to continue investing in the construction of drilling rigs, ships, and platforms. And that was a golden moment because Petrobras was more than just an oil company."

The former president pointed out that the dismantling of the company was a direct consequence of high fuelCurrently, some gas stations in Brazil are already selling a liter of gasoline for R$10. "Petrobras is essential for Brazilian development. But what did they do? They started destroying Petrobras. And today we have 392 companies importing gasoline at dollar prices, and this gasoline reaches the Brazilian people at dollar prices."
