Caixa's profit in the first half of the year reaches R$ 4,1 billion.

Caixa Econômica Federal reported a net profit of R$ 4,073 billion in the first half of the year, according to information from the Central Bank; the state-owned bank, which has not yet released its audited results for the period, had reported a net profit of R$ 2,448 billion in the first half of 2016.

Reuters - Caixa Econômica Federal reported a net profit of 4,073 billion reais in the first half of the year, according to information provided by the Central Bank.

The state-owned bank, which has not yet released its audited results for the period, had reported a net profit of 2,448 billion reais in the first half of 2016. It was unclear whether the bank's results released by the Central Bank are comparable.

Also according to data from the monetary authority, Caixa Econômica had revenue from services of 9,48 billion reais and another 2,75 billion reais in fees, totaling 12,2 billion reais in the semester. In the same period of 2016, Caixa had reported revenue from services and fees of 10,87 billion reais.

Regarding personnel expenses, the figure reported by the Central Bank for Caixa was 11,26 billion reais in 2017 up to June. In the same period last year, Caixa had reported personnel expenses of 10,06 billion reais.

The federal bank was supposed to release its half-year results weeks ago, but has repeatedly postponed the release without apparent explanation.

Contacted for comment, Caixa did not respond regarding the release of its figures by the Central Bank.
