A Leica camera was sold for a record-breaking US$1,9 million at an auction held by WestLicht in Vienna, Austria. The 88-year-old artifact is part of a limited series from 1923. The camera was valued at US$643.
According to the auction house, the camera had an initial bid of US$286 and, within 20 minutes, prices jumped to the record price at which it was sold. The buyer is a private Asian collector.
