Itaú makes R$ 4 billion in profit in just three months.

The result was well above the R$ 3,4 billion of the previous year; delinquency in credit operations at the bank headed by Roberto Setubal fell.

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Itaú Unibanco reported recurring net income of 4,022 billion reais, up from 3,4 billion reais a year earlier, the largest private bank in Brazil said on Tuesday.

The delinquency rate for loans overdue by more than 90 days was 3,9 percent in the third quarter, a decrease compared to 4,2 percent in the immediately preceding quarter and 5,1 percent in the period from July to September 2012.
