Brazil's National Consumer Price Index (IPCA) rose 0,19% in August, after a 0,24% increase in the previous month, the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) reported on Wednesday, September 6th; in the 12 months ending in August, the IPCA showed an increase of 2,46%, compared to a 2,71% increase in the previous month.

In the 12 months ending in August, the IPCA (Brazilian consumer price index) rose 2,46 percent, compared to a 2,71 percent increase in the previous month.
A Reuters poll indicated that analysts expected a 0,31 percent increase in August, accumulating to a 2,60 percent increase over 12 months.
