247 - The Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV) released the Leading Employment Indicator (IAEmp) data. According to FGV, the IAEmp registered its fourth consecutive drop and returned to the level of January 2017 (95,6 points). The data signals the continued slowdown in the rate of increase in total employment in Brazil.

"All components of the IAEmp registered negative variation between May and June. The indicators that most influenced the decline were those that measure the current situation of businesses in the manufacturing and service sectors, with decreases of 9,7 and 9,4 points respectively compared to May." The Coincident Unemployment Indicator (ICD) increased for the second consecutive month, rising 0,6 points in June to 97,1 points, the same level as February 2018. The ICD is an indicator with a signal similar to the unemployment rate, meaning that the higher the number, the worse the outcome.

The classes that most influenced the rise in the ICD were those of consumer groups with monthly family income up to R$ 2,1 and those above R$ 9,6, whose employment indicators fell by 3,6 and 1,4 points, respectively.
