247 – Economist Laura Carvalho clarifies the economic outlook of Dilma's government. She states that Dilma erred in accepting the "Fiesp agenda" starting in 2011. According to the USP professor, the incentive for profitability in the business sectors disrupted the virtuous cycle that the country's economy had been experiencing.

Economist Laura Carvalho says that former President Dilma Rousseff does bear some responsibility for the current economic crisis, but not the kind that has been attributed to her. Laura gave an interview to "Jornal da CBN – 2ª Edição" to talk about her book, "Brazilian Waltz, from Boom to Economic Chaos."

According to the economist, "there was no excessive spending" during Dilma's government. She points out that public spending grew less than during Lula's years and FHC's second term. Laura states that Dilma's main mistake was adopting, from 2011 onwards, what she calls the "Fiesp agenda," with a policy of high-cost incentives.
