IGP-M accumulates an inflation rate of 6,88% over 12 months.
The General Price Index - Market (IGP-M) registered inflation of 0,2% in the first preliminary reading for February; this rate is higher than that registered in the preliminary reading for January (0,03%); according to the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), with the result released, the IGP-M accumulates a rate of 6,88% over 12 months.

The General Price Index - Market (IGP-M) registered inflation of 0,2% in the first preliminary reading for February. The rate is higher than that registered in the preliminary reading for January (0,03%). According to the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), with the result released today (11), the IGP-M accumulates a rate of 6,88% in 12 months.
The increase in the rate from January to February was driven by wholesale prices, measured by the Broad Producer Price Index, which recorded inflation of 0,22% in the preliminary February figures. In January, the sub-index had recorded deflation (a drop in prices) of 0,13%.
On the other hand, the Consumer Price Index, which measures changes in retail prices, and the National Construction Cost Index, both registered declines in inflation rates.
Consumer Price Index inflation fell from 0,38% to 0,14%. Meanwhile, the National Construction Cost Index rate decreased from 0,27% to 0,25%.
