The change is already in effect for the January payroll paid in February; the minimum INSS (Brazilian Social Security) discount, which was 8% for those earning up to R$ 1.693,72, now applies to those earning up to R$ 1.751,81; for those earning between R$ 1.751,82 and R$ 2.919,72, the discount is now 9%. For salaries between R$ 2.919,73 and R$ 5.839,45, the discount is 11%.
247 - The government of Jair Bolsonaro published this Wednesday (16) a new social security contribution table for workers with formal employment contracts, domestic workers and casual workers. The minimum INSS discount, which was 8% for those earning up to R$ 1.693,72, now applies to those with salaries up to R$ 1.751,81.
For those earning between R$ 1.751,82 and R$ 2.919,72, the discount is now 9%. For salaries between R$ 2.919,73 and R$ 5.839,45, the discount is 11%. Those earning above R$ 5.839,45 have a fixed discount of 11% on R$ 5.839,45, which is the INSS ceiling.
The changes to the pay scale apply to January salaries and will be deducted from the February payroll.
