The government is preparing a multi-billion dollar credit line to stimulate entrepreneurship among beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família program.
The proposal foresees the allocation of R$ 1,5 billion from the Guarantee Fund for Operations (FGO) for the loans, which should have interest rates between 4% and 8% per year.

This initiative aims to encourage those registered in the Unified Registry (CadÚnico), especially the 56 million Bolsa Família beneficiaries, to become entrepreneurs.
The proposal foresees the allocation of R$ 1,5 billion from the Operations Guarantee Fund (FGO), guaranteed by the National Treasury, for loans. The objective is to raise R$ 20 billion from financial institutions to make available credit lines offered by federal and state banks and development agencies, as detailed by the Minister of Social Development, Wellington Dias. Dias also highlighted the interest of international financial institutions, such as the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the BRICS Bank, as well as the German development bank KfW, in partnering with national institutions to participate in the program.
Loans should be made available to citizens with interest rates between 4% and 8% per year, with repayment terms tailored to the type of business proposed by the beneficiary. This measure, part of the Brazil Without Hunger project announced at the end of 2023, is aimed at the urban population and seeks to fulfill the mission of removing Brazil from the Hunger Map, as stated by Dias, who leads the working group also composed of ministers Fernando Haddad, Márcio França, and Luiz Marinho.
