Central government posts surplus of R$ 5,437 billion in October
In the first 10 months of the year, the savings made for interest payments accumulated a positive balance of R$ 33,433 billion.
BRASILIA, Nov 28 (Reuters) The central government – comprised of the federal government, the Central Bank, and Social Security – recorded a primary surplus of 5,437 billion reais in October, the National Treasury reported this Thursday.
In the first 10 months of the year, the savings made for interest payments accumulated a positive balance of 33,433 billion reais.
Last month, Social Security presented a deficit of 2,713 billion reais, according to Treasury data.
