The central government, comprised of the National Treasury, the Central Bank, and Social Security, recorded a primary deficit of R$ 25,857 billion in February, the largest fiscal deficit for the month in the entire historical series, which began in 2017.

Reuters The central government, comprised of the National Treasury, the Central Bank, and Social Security, recorded a primary deficit of 25,857 billion reais in February, the Treasury announced on Monday.

The figure came in worse than the projected deficit of 21,1 billion reais, according to a Reuters poll of analysts.
