247 - Leaders of the Unified Federation of Oil Workers (FUP) urged the Lula government to suspend and reverse the privatization of assets of... Petrobras, which, despite the new administration, is still ongoing. The oil workers met with the executive secretary of the Civil House, Míriam Belchior, at the Planalto Palace, this Thursday (19).

The general coordinator of FUP, Deyvid Bacelar, stated that the issue will be forwarded to the current management of Petrobras.

"We raised some concerns about privatization processes that, unfortunately, the current management of Petrobras is still trying to move forward with, that is, to sign contracts or close deals," said Bacelar.

At the meeting, the oil workers also advocated for the repositioning of the company as a driver of national development and the recovery of the oil and gas industry, as well as the resumption of operations at the Nitrogen Fertilizer Plants.

According to surveys by FUP (the Unified Federation of Oil Workers), 55 Petrobras assets are currently in the process of privatization, mainly refineries and oil fields. The state-owned company continues to follow the 2023/2027 Strategic Plan, approved last year, while President Lula removed the company from the national privatization program (PND).
