Fenae - The National Federation of Associations of Caixa Econômica Federal Personnel (Fenae), along with seven other entities and the representative of the Employees on the Board of Directors of Caixa, Rita Serrano, delivered this Monday (19) to President-elect Luís Inácio Lula da Silva, a document that gathers relevant information about the situation of the largest public bank in Latin America.

Titled "A New Caixa for a New Brazil," the document delivered to President Lula by Senator-elect Wellington Dias provides a brief overview of the entities' actions to address the dismantling of the public bank promoted by the current government. The objective is to provide the transition team responsible for the economic area with information for future actions regarding Caixa.

"We understand that Caixa can be an important foundation for the distribution of public policies, supporting the reduction of inequality and economic growth and development, but it needs careful consideration regarding the legacy of the last 6 years," the organizations point out.

Employee appreciation at Caixa

One of Fenae's main priorities, employee appreciation, is highlighted in the document. According to the organizations, it is necessary to restore the self-esteem of the workforce, especially women.

In June 2022, Caixa experienced one of the worst episodes in its history. Female employees of the bank denounced the then-president of the bank, Pedro Guimarães, for sexual harassment. Faced with these serious allegations, Fenae (the National Federation of Caixa Employees) described the case as appalling, demanded Guimarães' immediate removal from the presidency, and called for an urgent and thorough investigation.
